Steve McCourt is a Shanghai based composer, whose work includes acoustic, electronic and electroacoustic music, songwriting, music for film, music for dance theatre and live electronics. He has also engineered and produced music for various artists. He completed a PhD in Composition in 2011. He also holds a First Class Honours Masters Degree in Music Technology. His work has featured at international music events in South Korea, China, Portugal, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Croatia and Ireland. His music has also been broadcast in Ireland, the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Austria, Portugal, the U.K. and Albania. He has worked with artists such as John Scott (choreographer), Charles Atlas (video artist), Ian Wilson (composer), Mary Wycherley (dance/film artist) and Holly Kennedy (filmmaker). His work has been commissioned by the Irish Modern Dance Theatre, the Royal Hibernian Academy of Art and RTE Lyric FM.
